Our aluminium tee sections — also known as aluminium T-bar, T-section, or T-profile — are precision-extruded in architectural grade 6063 alloy and stocked in seven sizes ranging from 12.7mm × 12.7mm through to 50.8mm × 50.8mm. The characteristic T-shaped cross section provides structural rigidity through its upright web combined with a broad, flat flange, making these profiles highly versatile across a wide range of trade, construction, and manufacturing applications. Whether you need a lightweight aluminium tee for display and exhibition work, a medium tee section for shopfitting and joinery, Gooding Aluminium holds the stock to supply you from a single source.
All sections are available in mill (untreated) or natural anodised finish, supplied in standard 4-metre lengths, with a cutting service available and next-day UK dispatch on in-stock items.
Find the right T-profile for your application. With seven sizes spanning 12.7mm to 50.8mm and two wall thickness options at the 25.4mm size, this range gives you precise control over weight, rigidity, and visual profile. Whether you are specifying a tee trim for partition detailing, or a T-section for a fabricated assembly, it is simple to identify the correct size, select your surface finish, and order online for next-day dispatch — without unnecessary delays.

Below are answers to common questions about our aluminium tee sections, sizes, wall thicknesses, alloy specifications, finishes, cutting services, and delivery options, to help you select the right T-profile and order with confidence.
Aluminium tee sections — also referred to as aluminium T-bar, T-section, or T-profile — are structural and architectural extrusions with a flat flange and a central perpendicular web, forming a T-shaped cross section. They are widely used in framing, reinforcement, partition systems, display and exhibition structures, shopfitting, furniture making and general fabrication. The T-form provides good rigidity along its web while the flange offers a broad fixing or bearing surface, making tee sections a versatile choice across trade, construction, and manufacturing applications.
Gooding Aluminium stocks aluminium tee sections in seven sizes: GA 0500 (12.7 × 12.7 × 1.6mm), GA 0502 (19.0 × 19.0 × 3.2mm), GA 0514 (25.4 × 25.4 × 1.6mm), GA 0504 (25.4 × 25.4 × 3.2mm), GA 0506 (31.7 × 31.7 × 3.2mm), GA 0507 (38.1 × 38.1 × 3.2mm), and GA 0510 (50.8 × 50.8 × 3.2mm). This range spans from lightweight smaller sections suitable for fine detail work through to the heavier 50.8mm tee for more demanding fabrication requirements.
The three dimensions given for each tee section — for example 25.4 × 25.4 × 3.2mm — refer to the flange width, the web height, and the material thickness respectively. All dimensions are shown in millimetres and refer to the as-drawn profile. Dimensional drawings for each product are available on the individual product pages: click the illustrated images to view detailed cross-section drawings.
All aluminium tee sections are extruded in grade 6063 aluminium alloy, to specifications BS EN 755, BS EN 515, and BS EN 573. Grade 6063 is an alloy for extrusions, combining a good surface finish with strong corrosion resistance, weldability, and suitability for anodising. It performs reliably in both interior and exterior applications.
All tee sections are stocked in standard 4-metre lengths. If you require sections shorter than 4 metres, Gooding Aluminium offers a professional cutting service — contact the sales team on 020 8692 2255 or at sales@goodingalum.com to arrange cut-to-length pieces with pricing and lead times.
Yes. All aluminium tee sections are available in either mill (untreated) finish or natural anodised finish. Natural anodised sections carry the 'S' suffix on their product code. Anodising is carried out to BS EN ISO 7599 and provides a harder, more uniform surface that is more resistant to marking and corrosion than mill finish. Please note that shade variation can occur between anodised batches due to the reactive nature of the process, and jig or clamp marks up to 50mm from each end are normal — these should be cut away before fixing where appearance is critical.
The 25.4 × 25.4mm tee is available in both 1.6mm (GA 0514) and 3.2mm (GA 0504) wall thicknesses. The 1.6mm section is lighter and better suited to display, and decorative applications where minimal material weight is an advantage. The 3.2mm section offers greater rigidity, making it the preferred choice for structural framing, heavier fabrications, or applications where the profile will be subject to regular handling.
Yes. Gooding Aluminium offers a cutting service on all extrusions and profiles. If your project requires lengths shorter than 4 metres, the sales team can provide cut-to-length pieces to reduce on-site waste and handling. A powder-coating service for specific colours is also available on request. Contact the team directly for a quote and lead time.
Yes. Grade 6063 aluminium has good natural corrosion resistance, making tee sections suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. For external applications, natural anodised finish provides additional surface protection. Where a specific colour or enhanced weather resistance is needed, powder coating to BS 6496 (1984) is available — contact the sales team to discuss your requirements.
Yes. Grade 6063 aluminium is noted for its excellent weldability, making these tee sections suitable for fabricated welded assemblies. Standard MIG and TIG welding processes are compatible with 6063 alloy. If sections are to be anodised after welding, consult with your anodising supplier as weld areas may react differently to the surrounding parent material.
Yes. Free samples of profiles and extrusions are available from Gooding Aluminium, allowing you to verify the dimensions, surface finish, and material quality before placing a full order. Use the 'Free Sample' button on the product page or contact the sales team to request your sample.
Aluminium tee sections are a fundamental structural and architectural profile, valued for the combination of rigidity and versatility that the T-shaped cross section provides. The central web resists bending forces along its axis, while the flat flange distributes load and provides a stable fixing or bearing surface. This geometry makes aluminium T-bar profiles well suited to applications where a section needs to span, reinforce, or support without adding excessive weight — a key advantage of aluminium over steel in many fit-out, display, and light fabrication contexts. Gooding Aluminium stocks seven tee sizes in grade 6063 alloy, covering everything from thin gauge 12.7mm sections for fine trim and display work through to the 50.8mm × 50.8mm T-section for more demanding applications.
One of the most common uses for aluminium tee sections is in the fit-out, display, and exhibition sector, where lightweight yet rigid framing is essential. Aluminium T-bar profiles are used to create sub-frames for display panels, partition systems, counter structures, and bespoke joinery — often as visible design features rather than concealed elements. The clean, straight lines of a precision-extruded tee section, particularly in natural anodised finish, complement contemporary interior design aesthetics. Customers fitting out retail spaces, trade counters, museum displays, or office interiors regularly specify Gooding Aluminium’s tee sections for their combination of appearance, workability, and fast availability.
Gooding Aluminium’s tee sections are available in mill (untreated) or natural anodised finish to suit both functional and finish-critical applications. Mill finish is the practical choice when sections will be welded, painted, powder coated, or otherwise concealed in the final installation. Natural anodised finish provides a clean appearance with a harder, more durable surface that resists marking and corrosion. All anodising is carried out to BS EN ISO 7599. Powder coating to BS 6496 (1984) is available on request for customers who need a colour-matched or enhanced surface specification — contact the sales team for details.
Gooding Aluminium stocks all seven tee section sizes in standard 4-metre lengths for immediate dispatch, with in-stock items shipped by next working day on a free overnight delivery service.
