5 Slots Perforated Aluminium Sheet

Five-slot perforated aluminium sheet from Gooding Aluminium, available in two-hole size configurations and two pitch orientations. The 5-slot pattern groups five narrow elongated apertures into a single repeating cluster, producing a distinctive linear texture across the sheet surface. Rotating the cluster between 45° and 90° pitch changes the visual direction of the pattern, giving designers and fabricators the flexibility to create either diagonal or perpendicular line effects from the same perforation geometry.

All sheets are manufactured to order and are normally dispatched within 2–5 working days on an overnight delivery service.

5 Slots Perforated Aluminium Sheet FAQs

5-Slots Sheets are normally dispatched within 2–5 working days. Delivery is via an overnight nationwide service.

A 5-slot perforated aluminium sheet has five narrow elongated apertures grouped together as a single repeating cluster across the sheet surface. This grouped arrangement creates a distinctive linear texture that is visually denser and more decorative than single-slot perforation, where individual slots are spaced independently across the sheet.

The pitch angle describes the orientation of the slot clusters relative to the sheet edges. A 45° pitch positions the clusters diagonally, creating an angled visual rhythm across the surface. A 90° pitch aligns the clusters perpendicular to the sheet edge, producing a straight horizontal or vertical line effect. Both orientations use the same slot dimensions and open area — the difference is purely directional and aesthetic.

Yes. All sheets in the 5-slot range can be supplied with a polyester powder coat finish. These are applied after perforation and are available within a few days of order. Contact sales@goodingalum.com with your finish requirements.

Yes. Gooding Aluminium offers a sizing service for perforated sheets. Sheets can be supplied to bespoke dimensions with plain border margins and cut-outs for fittings where required. Please note that depending on the pattern, cut edges may be sharp(without a smooth border). Contact sales@goodingalum.com for bespoke sizing.

Grouped Slot Pattern for Decorative and Functional Screening

The 5-slot perforation pattern is a grouped design where five narrow slots are arranged as a single repeating unit across the sheet. Unlike single-slot patterns, where individual apertures are distributed evenly and independently, the 5-slot layout clusters its openings into tight formations that repeat at regular intervals. This produces a more textured, visually active surface that reads as a deliberate design element rather than a purely functional perforation.

The result is a sheet that performs a dual role. The perforations allow air, light, and sound to pass through the material, while the grouped arrangement creates visual interest and a degree of privacy screening. Because the clusters are tightly spaced within each group but separated by solid material between groups, the sheet maintains good structural rigidity for its thickness — an important consideration when sheets are used as unsupported panels or where bending resistance matters.

Two Pitch Orientations, Two Design Directions

Every 5-slot perforation in the Gooding Aluminium range is available in both 45° and 90° pitch orientations. The pitch angle determines how the slot clusters sit relative to the sheet edges, and the difference in visual effect is significant.

At 45°, the slot clusters run diagonally across the sheet surface. This creates an angled, dynamic texture that draws the eye along a diagonal axis. It is a particularly effective choice where the sheet will be viewed face-on and the designer wants to introduce directional movement or break up the regularity of a flat plane — for instance on wall-mounted screening panels, decorative room dividers, or reception area feature surfaces.

At 90°, the clusters align with the horizontal and vertical edges of the sheet, producing a more ordered, grid-like appearance. This suits applications where the sheet needs to sit quietly within a structured interior — suspended ceiling panels, radiator and vent covers, or cabinet door inserts where a calmer visual rhythm is preferred.

Both orientations share identical slot dimensions, open area percentages, and material properties. The only variable is the angle of the pattern, so switching between 45° and 90° is a purely aesthetic decision with no impact on performance.

Choosing Between 29% and 39% Open Area

The two hole size options in the 5-slot range produce meaningfully different open area percentages, and the choice between them depends on the balance required between visual screening and airflow.

The 20.0 x 1.7mm slot size delivers 29% open area. With narrower slots and more solid material between perforations, this option produces a tighter, more opaque surface. It is well suited to applications where partial concealment is the priority — screening plant equipment, enclosing service risers, or providing a degree of visual separation in open-plan interiors without fully blocking sightlines.

The 25.0 x 2.5mm slot size delivers 39% open area. The wider, longer slots allow noticeably more light and air to pass through the sheet, creating a lighter, more transparent appearance. This option works well for ventilation-led applications such as radiator covers, HVAC grille panels, and ceiling tiles where unrestricted airflow is as important as the visual finish.

The sheets are manufactured with either 1.2mm/2.0mm thick aluminium in a standard 2000mm x 1000mm sheet size or custom sized to match your exact requirements – contact sales@goodingalum.com.

Fast Dispatch for 5-Slots Perforated Sheets

Standard orders are typically dispatched within 2–5 working days and delivered via an overnight nationwide service. For projects that require sheets cut to non-standard dimensions, supplied with plain border margins, or finished with a polyester powder coat or anodised surface, Gooding Aluminium’s processing and finishing services can accommodate these requirements within a short lead time.

Free material samples are available for all sheets in the 5-slot range. Samples are posted first class and normally arrive within a couple of days of the request, giving specifiers and purchasing teams the opportunity to assess the pattern, material weight, and surface finish before committing to a full order.
