Our aluminium H-shape profiles and sections are designed for joining, retaining and finishing two panel edges simultaneously with a clean, professional result. Also known as H-bar trims, H-section profiles, or joining channels, these dual-channel extrusions accept one panel into each side — making them the natural choice for partition systems, display and exhibition boards, shop fitting joinery, interior cladding, and trim work.
With four gap sizes in stock from 7.0mm to 26.0mm, you can match the profile precisely to your panel thickness. All sections are available in mill (untreated) or natural anodised finish, stocked in standard 4-metre lengths, with fast UK dispatch and a professional cutting service on request.
Find the correct gap size for your panels. Whether you need a 7.0mm H-section for fine sheet joining, a 13mm section for standard panel work, or a 20.0mm or 26.0mm profile for thicker boards and double-skin units, this range provides practical, precision-extruded options for trade, fabrication and display applications. It is straightforward to select the right aluminium H-profile for your job and order it online, with no delays.

Aluminium H-shape profiles — sometimes called H-section trims, H-bar profiles or joining sections — are designed to receive and retain two panel edges simultaneously within a single extrusion. Their symmetrical dual-channel form creates a neat, flush connection between two boards, sheets placed side by side. They are widely used in partition systems, display and exhibition walls, shop-fitting, frames, interior cladding, and joinery where a clean joint line is required.
Gooding Aluminium stocks H-shape profiles in four gap sizes: 7.0mm (GA 1000), 13mm (GA 1004), 20.0mm (GA 1002), and 26.0mm (GA 1003). This selection covers a broad range of panel thicknesses and units, from slim single sheets through to thicker double-skin boards.
All H-shape profiles are extruded in alloy grade 6063 aluminium alloy, conforming to specifications BS EN 755, BS EN 515, and BS EN 573. Grade 6063 is widely regarded as the standard for alloy extrusions, offering a good surface finish, excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, and suitability for anodising.
H-shape profiles are stocked in 4-metre lengths. This is the standard stock length across the full range of gap sizes. If you need sections cut shorter than 4 metres, a cutting service is available — contact the Gooding Aluminium sales team for a quote.
Yes. Each H-shape profile is available in either mill (untreated) finish or natural anodised finish. Natural anodised profiles carry the 'S' suffix on their product code. Anodising is carried out to BS EN ISO 7599, and provides enhanced surface protection and a cleaner appearance. Shade variations can occur between anodised items due to the nature of the process. Please note that jig or clamp marks up to 50mm from each end are normal on anodised profiles and should be cut away before fixing where aesthetic finish is critical. We can also supply polyester powder coated surface finishes, and this only adds a few days to the dispatch date.
Yes. Gooding Aluminium offers a professional cutting service on profiles and extrusions. If you need lengths shorter than the standard 4-metre stock, please contact us by email at sales@goodingalum.com. Cut pieces can also be powder coated to a specific colour on request.
Yes. Grade 6063 aluminium offers good natural corrosion resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. For outdoor environments, a natural anodised finish provides additional surface protection. Where additional durability or colour matching is required, a powder-coated finish can be specified — contact the sales team for details.
Mill finish (untreated) is the aluminium in its extruded state, without any surface treatment applied. It has untreated metallic appearance and may show surface marks from manufacture. Natural anodised finish involves an electrolytic process that creates a hard, transparent oxide layer on the surface, giving a cleaner, more uniform satin appearance while improving resistance to surface marking and corrosion. Mill finish is the basic finish; anodised finish is the preferred option where aesthetics and durability matter.

Aluminium H-shape profiles provide a neat and durable solution for butting two panels together along their edges. The symmetrical channel form grips the edge of each panel within its own recess, creating a stable, flush joint line. Whether used in a structural partition, a lightweight display wall, or an interior fit-out, H-bar extrusions give a consistently clean result that suits both functional and aesthetic-critical installations. Gooding Aluminium supplies H-shape sections with gap widths from 7.0mm to 26.0mm, covering the most commonly specified panel thicknesses across trade, commercial, and residential project types.
One of the most valuable qualities of the aluminium H-section profile is its versatility across installation types. H-profiles create a straightforward frame or dividing strip that holds panels securely. In partition systems, they provide a lightweight, corrosion-resistant jointing solution that can be left exposed as a clean visual feature or integrated into a wider framing system. For display, exhibition, and shop fitting work, aluminium H-sections allow panels to be connected quickly and cleanly, with the gap size tailored precisely to the board material in use. Customers sourcing aluminium H-section for panels can choose the profile gap that gives the desired fit — tight and rigid, or with enough tolerance to accommodate panel expansion.
Gooding Aluminium’s H-shape profiles are available in two surface finish options to suit both functional and finish-critical applications. Mill (untreated) finish provides a cost-effective solution for work where the profile will be painted, concealed, or where raw aluminium appearance is acceptable. Natural anodised finish delivers a cleaner, more refined silver appearance with an enhanced surface hardness that resists marking and corrosion — well suited to visible joinery applications. The anodising process is carried out to BS EN ISO 7599. Please note that shade variation can occur between batches due to the reactive nature of the anodising process, and jig marks up to 50mm from each end are normal and should be trimmed before fixing where a precise aesthetic finish is required.
Alongside stock 4-metre lengths, Gooding Aluminium provides a professional cutting service that enables you to order H-shape profiles closer to your required final sizes. This reduces material waste on site, speeds up installation, and simplifies handling and transport for larger orders. A powder-coating service is also available for customers who need a specific colour match. In-stock H-shape sections are dispatched by next working day on Gooding Aluminium’s free overnight delivery service, with a Click-and-Collect option also available from our London premises at no minimum spend. For cut pieces or powder-coated items, contact the sales team directly for lead times and pricing.
