GA Panel-Fix is an aluminium alloy wall panel fixing system built to do the ‘heavy lifting’– supporting Cabinetry & Joinery installations, Headboards, Mirrors, Signage & Display Boards, Tiled Boards, Wall Panels etc., and other suspended fit-outs with fast installation and precise, lateral adjustment when it matters.
A major time-saver on site is that the profiles are supplied pre-drilled and countersunk, so you can fix faster with cleaner results.
GA Panel-Fix uses two interlocking J-section aluminium strips – one fixed to the panel, the other to the supporting structure – so the panel slots into place cleanly and securely.
These profiles are seriously capable: independent load testing was carried out on both WP1 and WP2 to determine ultimate load capacity.
Installers love it because the profiles are supplied pre-drilled and countersunk, saving a “hole” lot of time on site (and helping everything line up neatly).
And the clever bit: once hung, panels can be laterally adjusted to dial in the final position – so you get alignment without re-drilling or reworking.
We know “how much will it hold?” is one of the first questions people ask about Panel-Fix. To show the profile performance, independent load capacity testing was carried out on both GA WP1 (2.0mm) and GA WP2 (1.2mm) using 600mm samples, with the load increased steadily until failure and results recorded for each sample plus the mean.
| Sample Type | Sample Number | Failure Load (kN) |
|---|---|---|
| GA WP1 (2.0mm Thickness) | 1 | 14.81 |
| 2 | 16.95 | |
| 3 | 17.40 | |
| Mean | 16.39 | |
| GA WP2 (1.2mm Thickness) | 1 | 6.67 |
| 2 | 7.11 | |
| 3 | 5.89 | |
| Mean | 6.56 |
If you’re comparing wall panel hanging systems, these are the practical questions that come up most—especially around load, substrates, and how Panel-Fix actually installs.
GA Panel-Fix is a two-part, interlocking wall panel fixing system made from aluminium alloy extrusions. One section is fixed to the panel, the other to the supporting structure; the panel section then slots into the support section.
Allow for an18.0mm gap between the top of the panel and ceiling for GA WP1& 12.0mm for GA WP2.
For GA WP1 the gap is approximately 11.0mm and for GA WP2 the gap is approximately 7.0mm.
Of course! 1 kN (kilonewton) is a unit of force equal to 1,000 Newtons, which represents approximately 102 kgs of weight or downward force. So, the average failure load result of the GA WP1 system was 1,671kgs and the average failure load result for GA WP2 was 669kgs.These are impressive load bearing results, but you must consider the load bearing capacity of the surface that the system is being fixed to and the strength of the fixings being used.
For GA WP1 the csk. hole size is approximately 4.0mm diameter (No.8 screw) and for GA WP2 the csk. hole size is approximately 3.5mm diameter (no.6 screw). The holes are drilled at approximately 200mm centres.
Yes, normally some lateral adjustment is possible with minimal lifting, but it depends on the panel weight. A suitable, non-staining lightweight lubricant could be used on the profiles to ease the sliding motion, if sideways adjustment is required during the installation.
Normally, we keep some un-drilled GA Panel-Fix profiles in stock, for just this purpose?
The standard stock length is 2.5metres and yes, we can cut to suit your requirement. Please note that as the stock lengths are pre-drilled the positioning of the holes will vary depending on where the cuts are made.
GA Panel-Fix is designed for efficient installation—especially useful on fit-outs where speed and consistency matter. Pre-drilled, countersunk profiles reduce on-site measuring and drilling, and the interlocking design makes it straightforward to hang panels cleanly and repeatedly across a run.
Panels rarely land perfectly first time—studs vary, walls move, and tolerances stack up. Panel-Fix is popular because it gives you that “just enough slip” to nudge panels laterally into the final position, so your lines, joins, and shadow gaps look intentional instead of improvised.
People often ask for a single number for “how much it holds”. Independent testing demonstrates strong ultimate load capacity in the profile system, but your real install capacity depends on the wall construction and chosen fixings. Use the published test results as evidence of the profile’s capability—then specify the right substrate and anchors for your ap
