Description

A hexagonal perforated aluminium sheet with 12 x 14mm apertures at 56% open area in a staggered pitch. The 12mm dimension is the flat-to-flat width of each hexagonal hole; 14mm is the point-to-point height. At 56% open area, more than half the sheet surface is open, and at 12mm the individual hexagonal cells are clearly visible as distinct honeycomb shapes at normal viewing distances — large enough to read as a structured pattern rather than a fine texture. This is the smaller of the two 56% open area specifications in the range, producing a more detailed honeycomb pattern than the 15 x 17mm version at the same open area percentage.

Ventilation grilles, acoustic ceiling panels, balustrade infill, radiator covers, speaker enclosures, and architectural screening where a clear honeycomb pattern is part of the visual specification are all appropriate applications at this scale. Because both the 12 x 14mm and 15 x 17mm products achieve 56% open area, the choice between them is primarily one of visual scale — the 12mm product produces a finer, more detailed cell pattern, while the 15mm product gives a bolder, more open-looking surface. Neither is available in 1.2mm gauge; both are stocked in 2.0mm material only.
