A 31.7mm square-pitch aluminium perforated sheet at 35% open area. The square pitch applied to a 31.7mm hole creates a bold, high-contrast grid surface in which each large circular aperture is clearly separated from the next by a broad aluminium bridge. At 35% open area, the sheet is visibly open but retains substantial material between holes — quite different in both visual character and structural behaviour from the 44% staggered-pitch version at the same hole diameter.

This is the more controlled specification for large-aperture applications: situations where the 31.7mm hole size is required for functional reasons — airflow rate, visibility through the panel, or coarse particle rejection — but where a regular grid pattern is preferable over the diagonal arrangement of staggered perforation. Exterior cladding with formal grid detailing, structural barrier panels, and architectural feature walls where the pattern must align with adjacent grid elements are all appropriate end uses.
