Description

Aluminium Angle – Equal

GA’s Aluminium Equal Angle is a symmetric L-shaped structural profile with two legs of identical length, manufactured from high-grade 6063 aluminium alloy to BS EN 755 standards. Available from stock in mill (untreated) or natural anodised surface finish, equal angles deliver a consistent, balanced cross-section that simplifies design, cutting, and installation across a wide range of structural and fabrication applications.

Stocked in a comprehensive range of sizes from 12.7 × 12.7mm up to 76.2 × 76.2mm, in wall thicknesses of 1.6mm and 3.2mm — all in standard 4000mm lengths. The equal leg geometry makes these profiles especially well-suited to corner reinforcement, edge protection, and framing work where alignment and load symmetry are required.

Should you require a powder coated finish or cut pieces, please contact our Sales Team.

N.B. Jig marks, up to 50mm in from each end (often less than this), can be apparent on anodised items. These marks can be cut away before fixing.

Shade variations can occur with anodised surfaces due to the reactive nature of this finishing process.

Natural Corrosion Resistance: Aluminium Equal angle sections form a self-protecting oxide layer on exposure to air, providing outstanding resistance to rust and atmospheric corrosion without additional treatment — ideal for both indoor and outdoor (when combined with the anodising process) structures, coastal installations, and industrial environments.

Symmetric Load Distribution: With both legs of equal length, these profiles offer balanced structural support and simplified installation alignment. Equal angles are especially effective for corner bracing, edge reinforcement, and framing where consistent, predictable load paths are essential.

Superior Anodised Surface Durability: Independent test results demonstrate that our anodised surfaces offer up to four times greater resistance to surface marking compared with mill finish — providing a harder, longer-lasting surface for high-contact and or visible applications.

Fully Recyclable & Sustainable: Aluminium retains its properties indefinitely through recycling, making equal angles a responsible material choice for low-carbon construction programmes and circular economy commitments.

Simple to Fabricate: These profiles can be cut, drilled, punched, and welded without specialist tooling. The wide size range and two standard wall thicknesses mean there is almost always a suitable profile available without custom extrusion lead times.

Profile Type: Symmetrical L-Section (Equal Angle)

Dimensions: 12.7 × 12.7mm to 76.2 × 76.2mm; wall thicknesses 1.6mm and 3.2mm

Material: High-grade 6063 Aluminium Alloy to BS EN 755 Standards

Length: 4000mm standard stock lengths

Available Finishes: Mill (Untreated) or Natural Anodised

Finish Notes: For anodised finishes, minor jig marks (electrical contact points) may be visible within 50mm of each end. These are a standard part of the process and can be trimmed during final fitting. Shade variations may occur between production batches due to the reactive nature of anodising.

Construction & Architecture: Equal angles are widely used for structural corner reinforcements, wall ties, window and door frame components, roof truss connectors, and partition framing in residential and commercial buildings. The symmetric section simplifies marking out and ensures consistent bearing across both legs.

Retail & Exhibition Fitouts: Their clean, consistent profile makes equal angles a popular choice for shelving supports, modular display frame structures, exhibition stand fabrication, and in-store fitting installations in shops, galleries, and showrooms.

Electrical & Mechanical Enclosures: Commonly used as corner framing for electrical cabinets, control panels, and equipment enclosures, where a uniform corner profile provides both structural integrity and a neat finish.

DIY & Home Improvement: Equal angles are a staple for home fabricators — straightforward to cut and drill for corner protectors, shelf brackets, frame construction, and trim work where a symmetrical profile simplifies assembly.
