A 3mm staggered-pitch aluminium perforated sheet at 40% open area — significantly more open than the 23% staggered version at the same hole diameter, achieved by tightening the pitch spacing between holes. At 40% open area, this sheet delivers significantly better airflow, acoustic transparency, and light transmission while retaining the same fine 3mm aperture. The result is a smooth, almost textile-like visual pattern at normal viewing distances.

The higher open area makes this the preferred specification where ventilation performance is the priority alongside a fine-grained surface: equipment enclosures containing heat-generating components, acoustic absorption panels requiring better mid-frequency transparency, and decorative screens where light transmission is important.
