Description

GA’s C Series Aluminium Corner Protectors are purpose-designed impact protection profiles for high-end building interiors. Unlike a standard angle section, these extrusions feature smooth, rounded outer surfaces — an attractive curvilinear form that absorbs and deflects impact rather than concentrating it, while removing any sharp edge risk to people passing nearby.

Manufactured from grade 6063 aluminium alloy to BS EN 755, 515, and 573 standards, the C Series is available in four sizes from 20 × 20mm up to 60 × 60mm. All profiles are stocked with a natural anodised surface finish and alternatively a mill (untreated) finish option. For projects requiring a specific colour, powder coating to the full RAL colour management system is available to order — normally within a few extra days.

GA 1375 (31 × 31mm) and GA 1377 (20 × 20mm) are supplied in 4 metre stock lengths. GA 1378 (45 × 45mm) and GA 1379 (60 × 60mm) are supplied in 3.1 metre lengths. Cut lengths are available — please contact our Sales Team.

Notes. Jig marks, up to 50mm in from each end, can be apparent on anodised items. These should be cut away before fixing.

Shade variations can occur with anodised surfaces due to the reactive nature of this finishing process.

Powder Coat Note:  Prior to powder coating, a 4mm diameter hole is drilled at each end of the profile as part of the powder coating process.

Finish Notes:  For anodised finishes, jig marks within 50mm of each end are a standard part of the process and should be cut away before fixing. Shade variations may occur between batches due to the reactive nature of anodising.

Rounded Profile, Safer by Design: The smooth, curved outer face of the C Series sets it apart from a standard 90°angle section or formed industrial chequer plate with sharp upraised lozenges. There is no sharp exposed arris to cause injury to people brushing past, and the radius profile distributes the energy of a knock or trolley impact across a wider contact area — reducing both surface damage and the risk of harm to building users.

Three Finish Options Including RAL Powder Coat: Most corner protection profiles are available only in mill or anodised finish. GA’s C Series goes further: natural anodised and mill finish are stocked for immediate dispatch, and powder coating to any colour within the RAL system can be applied to mill finish profiles, typically within a few extra This makes it straightforward to match or complement the interior colour scheme of a specific space.

Non-Rusting and Low Maintenance: Aluminium forms a natural oxide layer that prevents surface rust without any treatment, coating, or ongoing maintenance. Unlike steel corner guards, GA’s C Series will not discolour walls through rust bleed, degrade in damp or humid environments, or require repainting over time. The anodised surface is non-porous, easy to wipe clean, and resistant to most of the cleaning agents used in commercial premises.

Substantial Impact Resistance in a Lightweight Profile: 6063 aluminium alloy combines meaningful structural strength with a weight advantage over steel of roughly two-thirds. C Series profiles can take repeated impacts from trolleys, wheelchairs, pallet trucks, and furniture movement without deforming under normal conditions, while remaining light enough to handle and cut on site without any specialist equipment.

Four Sizes for Different Coverage Requirements: The range scales from the slimline GA 1377 at 20 × 20mm — suited to narrow reveals and door frames — up to the GA 1379 at 60 × 60mm, which provides wider coverage on exposed external corners and high-impact loading bay or warehouse environments.

Healthcare, Care Homes & Educational Buildings: Exposed internal corners in hospitals, GP surgeries, care homes, and schools are among the most vulnerable surfaces in any building — subject to wheelchair impact, trolley traffic, and constant foot passage. The C Series’ rounded profile removes the sharp edge hazard while providing durable surface protection. The non-porous inert anodised finish is straightforward to disinfect with standard cleaning products, making these profiles well suited to environments with hygiene requirements.

Hotels, Hospitality & Commercial Interiors: In hotels, restaurants, and commercial office environments, corridor corners take continuous damage from luggage, service trolleys, and furniture movement. The C Series’ smooth curves integrate discreetly with modern interior finishes, and the RAL powder coat option allows the profile to be colour-matched to wall paint, fabric panels, or other interior materials for a considered, cohesive appearance rather than a purely functional look.

Warehouses, Logistics & Loading Areas: At the larger end of the size range, GA 1378 and GA 1379 profiles provide robust wider surface area protection for corners exposed to trolleys and other. Aluminium’s resistance to corrosion makes it a reliable choice in loading bays, cold stores, and mixed-use industrial spaces where steel alternatives would be prone to rust staining. The profiles can be fixed to masonry, block, or stud-framed walls using suitable adhesives or the appropriate mechanical fixings for the substrate.

Retail, Leisure & Public Buildings: Shops, leisure centres, libraries, and public-facing reception areas all face the same challenges: corners that are both visible and vulnerable. The C Series allows a specifier to choose a profile that is proportionate to the corner in question — the slimline GA 1377 for narrow reveals or door frames, up to the GA 1375 or GA 1378 for wider, more exposed positions. The natural anodised finish provides a professional, metallic appearance that works well in contemporary commercial interiors without requiring any additional decoration.
