Aluminium Profiles & Extrusions

Architectural-grade 6063 profiles in mill or natural anodised - stocked and dispatched fast

Standard aluminium alloy sections like angle, channel, flat bar and tee are ubiquitous — the difference between suppliers is in the quality of surface finish, stock availability and the condition the material arrives in. GA supplies architectural-grade 6063 profiles to BS EN755, 515, 573 with a consistently high mill finish (noticeably better than commercial or industrial-grade alternatives), plus matching sizes with a superb natural satin anodised surface finish to AA25 microns in thickness (BS EN ISO 7599:2018)  for applications where aesthetics are a priority. Extrusions and profiles are tightly packed in heavy-duty cardboard tubing, and orders are dispatched on a reliable overnight service.  We can also cut, drill and fabricate these items to match your specific requirements. All these items can be polyester powder coated (BS EN 12206-1:2021  to any colour within The Classic RAL Colour Management System.

Aluminium Profiles & Extrusions FAQs

When you’re buying standard aluminium sections, the spec is only half the story — the rest is finish quality, stock reliability, transit protection and how quickly you can get the lengths you need. These FAQs cover what GA supplies (including architectural-grade 6063), the difference between mill and natural anodised, how stock availability works on the site, packaging and delivery, and what processing services are available if you need cut-to-length or drilled profiles.

GA supplies profiles in 6063, an architectural-quality aluminium commonly chosen for good surface finish and consistent extrusion quality.

Mill finish is untreated aluminium with a natural raw appearance. Natural anodised adds a harder-wearing anodised surface for a cleaner, more consistent look—often preferred for higher-end or visible applications.

Yes — GA stocks many profiles in matching sizes with a good quality natural anodised surface finish (product dependent).

GA’s website displays stock availability for selected items as you browse, so you can order with clarity rather than placing an order without supply status.

Profiles are packed in robust heavy-duty cardboard tubing to protect edges and surfaces in transit, reducing the chance of damage compared with taped bundles.

GA dispatches profiles on a reliable overnight delivery service (subject to order timing and stock), rather than typical 2–3 day services.

Yes — GA can process profiles to requirement, including cutting to length.

Yes — processing services include hole drilling, plus forming services such as rolling and curving (feasibility depends on profile type and requirements).

Yes — GA can provide a polyester powder coating service for mill finish items.

Our Aluminium Profiles & Extrusions Range Explained

Not sure which section you need? This quick guide breaks down each profile shape – what it is, what it’s typically used for, and when it’s the right choice for fabrication, framing, edging or architectural finishing.

Angle (Equal & Unequal)

Aluminium angle is an L-shaped section used for corner protection, bracing and general fabrication. Equal angle has matching legs for balanced support, while unequal angle gives extra coverage or stiffness on one side.

Channel

Aluminium channel is a U/C-shaped section used as a track, receiver or frame member. It’s commonly used to hold panels, create edges, and add strength in fabricated assemblies.

Channel Miscellaneous

A mix of channel-style sections that don’t fit the standard channel sizes or shapes. Typically used for more specific edge details, tracks and framing situations where a standard channel isn’t the right fit.

Flat Bar

Aluminium flat bar is a simple rectangular strip used for brackets, straps, packing pieces, trims and general fabrication. It’s easy to cut, drill and fix, making it one of the most versatile section types.

H-Shape

H-sections are connector/joiner profiles used to create a neat join between two panels or boards. They’re common in architectural detailing where you want a clean, controlled joint line.

Tee

Aluminium tee is a T-shaped section used for joining panels, creating tidy transitions, light framing and stiffening. It’s useful where you need a flat face with a central stem for support or fixing.

Y-Shape

Y-sections are junction trims used where two surfaces meet and you want a clean, defined transition. They’re typically used as architectural trims for finishing and detailing.

Z-Shape

Z-sections are offset trims used to create a step/return detail, support panel edges or form a simple flashing-style profile. The Z shape makes it useful where you need an inbuilt offset between surfaces.
